The Design Team

Sylvia Alotta
Sylvia believes that designing custom systems is not simply taking measurements and retrofitting pre-cut components. She understands closet systems are an investment and includes her customers in the design process. By bringing the computer onsite, she maximizes efficiency and time, allowing the customer to view designs in 3D within minutes during the consultation. Sylvia brings practical closet storage solutions, but also thinks “outside the box” to design custom armoires, wall entertainment systems, garage storage and home offices.

Sylvia has a BFA from Cleveland Institute of Art and a MFA from Columbia College Chicago. She began her career in industrial designer as an Automotive Designer for GM. She brings to All About Closet’s design team over 20 years of product and interior design experience.

In her quiet moments, Sylvia creates artist’s books and repairs old books in her studio. She also teaches at Columbia College Center for Book and Paper. Her work exhibits internationally.

Karen Major
Karen has over ten years of experience in custom cabinetry. Her knowledge in cabinetry gives customers beautiful designs that are highly functional and maximize any space.
Karen also brings to All About Closets a strong history of working with clients and understanding their needs. Karen partners with her clients offering strong customer service, which allows them to be part of the whole design process from start to finish.
